According to Dr. Dicken Bettinger:
“The most important variable—and the least recognized variable regarding importance in a business setting—is the state of mind of people within the workplace.”
Do you agree?
A year ago I’m not so sure I would have agreed, but today I feel confident it’s one of the most important. It’s maybe even more important than leadership, culture, purpose, agile, lean, digital transformation and every other business concept that is popular today?
Bettinger also goes on to say:
“It’s critical. It’s the biggest determinant of how productive people are, how well they listen, how well they communicate, the quality of the decisions they make, the ease with which a group can make decisions, and their ability to solve problems in a collaborative fashion.”
Dicken is an expert in a body of knowledge that’s referred to as the 3 Principles. It’s something I had never heard about until last year. However, my first exposure to this work resulted in an immediate shift in my mindset.
The results I think have been significant. My mind quieted to such a degree that it has allowed more fresh ideas to surface. Life’s circumstances impact me to a much lesser degree. My personal productivity and creativity have gone to a new level. People are noticing and letting me know.
